Wet Weather Continues to Suspend Parking Lot Construction: Fans Encouraged to Use Shuttles

Posted on 10/8/2009

Fargo, ND - Suspension of construction continues on the new paved parking lot at the Urban Plains Center due to the ongoing wet weather in the Fargo-Moorhead area during the past week. Construction will resume once the drier conditions develop that are expected within the next few days.

Due to the wet conditions, shuttles will once again be provided free of charge for the upcoming Fargo Force game on Friday. All riders will receive a voucher for a free medium fountain pop as well as a chance to win a suite rental at an upcoming game.

"We are trying to make coming to a Force game as easy as possible for our customers despite the halted construction on the parking lot," said Lance Johnson, general manager of the Urban Plains Center. "We've scheduled more than enough shuttles for people coming to the game in order to make the wait as short as possible."

Parking will still be available on site for those with season parking passes and a limited amount of non-pass holders. This on-site parking will be located west of the Urban Plains Center in the gravel lot, which is built to withstand wet weather conditions. Free parking will also be available on 51st Street South. Carpooling is once again heavily encouraged.

Fans are not allowed to park on the 32nd Avenue boulevard, and violators will be towed at their own expense.
