Wet Weather Conditions Temporarily Halt Parking Lot Construction - Force Fans Encouraged to Ride Shuttles Posted on 10/1/2009
Fargo, ND - Construction of the new paved parking lot at the Urban Plains Center has been temporarily suspended due to wet weather conditions. Construction should resume within the next few days as drier weather is expected.
"It is official. Mother Nature is not a hockey fan," stated Lance Johnson, general manager of the Urban Plains Center. "It is disheartening to see all of the hard work the construction crew has put in over the past ten days stopped due to weather. We have waited a long time for this parking lot, and if it means waiting for another game or two, we can live with it."
The Fargo Force, the building's primary tenant, has arranged for FREE shuttle service to Friday night's game. Shuttle riders will not only ride for free, but they will also receive a free beverage voucher for Friday night's game as well as entered to win an array of prizes, including the use of a luxury suite.
"We are doing everything possible to please our fans as we ask them to stick with us for another game without ample parking," said Andy Leapaldt, director of business operations for the Fargo Force. "We have rented more shuttles than needed to ensure short lines at the shuttle locations and quick returns back to vehicles after the game."
